Good early morning (for me)! It is April 1, and I have my tarot reading for the month of April ready to go. I can never think of good April Fool’s jokes, so I’ll get right to the reading.
It looks like April is going to come in with some stress and frustration as we send our arrows (or our efforts) off and nothing seems to hit its mark. That’s a hallmark of Mercury retrograde, which goes direct on April 4 at 6:11am EST. Mercury will end it’s retrograde path in Pisces, which means we may be feeling a bit emotional and vulnerable at the end of this transit, so make sure you give yourself some extra special care. It’s a good idea during this time, both with the card for the first part of April, as well as for Mercury Retrograde to take extra care in your communications. Back up files. You’re doing taxes, so make sure to double check those calculations and figures.
But, as we move into the middle of the month, we have the card for The Lovers, which tells us that there will be union and partnership coming after all the turmoil of the first part of the month. It’s a time for getting together with friends, loved ones, even business partners and making plans for the future. It’s also a good time to shake the dust of Mercury Retrograde off our boots, so to speak, and take a look at what we want to do moving forward. Take a deep breath and relax.
The end of the month brings The Ancestors (or The Heirophant), which is a good reminder that although we can be excited about moving forward and making plans (perhaps with our partner), that we shouldn’t skip a step. We need to honor and acknowledge where we are in the path and the traditions and meanings which brought us here. This is not a time for taking short cuts either spiritually or professionally. Hard work is ahead, but it’s this toil that will bring us to our destination all the wiser for following the proscribed path.
There are lessons to be found this month, but there’s also growth and knowledge, and yes, even some pleasure to be had. We have two Major Arcana cards, which is a strong sign that the things that are happening aren’t necessarily in our control. We need to let go and let God (or the Universe, or whatever higher power you believe in) and trust that all is as it should be, as shown by that final card. After all, we might have some April showers, but they’re sure to bring May flowers.

Thanks for the kick in the pants, Mary
Tonight I am going to sit in a quiet corner of the house (well, at least devoid of people anyhow HAHA) and do a reading for the month. And YAY about Merc Retro going back to normal!
